Pushchino Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences (PSC RAS) – was established in 1963 in order to develop fundamental researches in the field of physicochemical biotechnology. PSC consolidates 9 biological research institutes and the Radio Astronomy Observatory of P.N.Lebedev Physical Institute RAS.
The city of Pushchino is located 120 kilometers to the South of Moscow on the bank of the Oka river on the highest spot of Moscow region. Directly across the river from Pushchino is located the Prioksko-Terrasny Biosphere Reserve.
The city occupying the territory of 1783,7 ha fits naturally into the surrounding landscape harmonizing perfectly with its beauty. In the design and construction of the city special attention was given to the relief of the terrain so that maximum all-round view of the sky, the river and the woods be open.
Due to the lack of any industrial enterprises or unhealthy works, the ecological situation in the city is kind.
The uniqueness of the city is also in that the picturesque surroundings and the elements of the city architecture complement each other nicely.
The sights of the city are the Pushchino estate, which is a historical monument of the XVIII century, Spas-Teshilov settlement, 5 State unique landscapes, which are nature reserves of regional importance.
Near Pushchino there is Polenov's museum-estate, Chekhov's museum-estate (Melikhovo), the city of Serpukhov with ancient churches, Vysotsky Monastery and Museum of Art and History.
The conference will be hosted by the Institute of Mathematical Problems of Biology RAS.
You can get to Pushichino by the bus N 359 or Microvans "Gazel" "Yug-Avto" from the metro station "Yuzhnaya" ("Southern") in Moscow or by the bus N 126 from the Serpukhov railway station.
